Twinpalms Phuket Set For Australian Adventure Tour

It might be the most glamorous caravan to traverse the Australian landscape since Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and Oprah Winfrey’s Ultimate Australian Adventure.

Get ready, Australia, Twinpalms Phuket Resort is coming soon to a city near you!

Twinpalms Phuket, long known for its adventurous approach to hospitality, is about to blaze a trail through Australia next month for its Twinpalms Phuket “On Tour” Australia 2012 road show.

Launching in Brisbane on November 7, the trip will cover nearly 4,500 kilometres over one month, stopping at Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and several towns in between before arriving in Canberra on December 4.

The road show will not only introduce Phuket’s most stylish and contemporary resort to Australian media, travel professionals and future visitors, it will be a great chance for former guests to enjoy another taste of the Twinpalms experience on their home turf. Some 40 percent of Twinpalms guests are from Australia.

The Twinpalms eye-catching style and bold sense of fun will be highlighted in every step of the journey Down Under. The entire exterior of a custom-designed, 10-metre luxury motorhome will be emblazoned with imagery showcasing the Twinpalms resort island lifestyle, ensuring that passing motorists and people along the roadsides will take notice as it roams the Australian highways and city streets.

An advert on the back will invite people to take photos of the motorhome and email them to Twinpalms for the chance to win a stay at the luxury Phuket resort in its weekly lucky draw. Thai Airways, a sponsor of the Twinpalms trip, will also be prominently displayed on the motorhome.

Twinpalms will make weekend visits to each of the larger cities along its path, where invited guests will enjoy a presentation and a welcome drink with some light snacks at a restaurant. During the week, the Twinpalms RV will travel the highways and stop at several smaller cities and towns to welcome travel agents for coffee and cake at selected coffee shops.

Navigating the journey is Miguel Kirjon, Designer and Brand Development manager for Twinpalms, who has spent the past several months painstakingly planning every trip detail and design element.

Miguel said Twinpalms had never before done such a road show, and to make a splash in Australia they knew they had to do something daring and reflective of the local spirit of travel. “Australia has a huge RV culture so traveling with a motorhome makes complete sense,” he said.

Miguel’s wife and three children will tag along for the entire trip while sales executive manager Khun Somjai Tungkoo will join them in the main markets of Sydney and Melbourne.

Starting a month in advance of the official Twinpalms tour, the Twinpalms RV will be seen roving the roads of Australia, including an appearance at the Bathurst V8 Supercar race in early October.

About Twinpalms Phuket Resort

Twinpalms Phuket Resort offers Phuket accommodation with the comfort of a five-star boutique hotel, combined with the relaxing tranquillity of a secluded getaway resort. There are only 97 luxurious and spacious bedrooms or suites, each surrounded by palms, with all of the units featuring a private terrace and offering a lagoon view. The unique design of Twinpalms Phuket was created by Martin Palleros, one of the top landscape architects in the Asia-Pacific region. With a brief to produce a property that has an integrated landscape which works in harmony with nature, the “Contemporary Tropical” design and landscaping incorporate a stunning, world-class water garden. The concern for the aesthetic has resulted in a beautiful and serene Phuket accommodation setting which has a modern, romantic twist – a Garden of Eden for our times. The architectural lines are fresh, clean and blend seamlessly with the environment.
