Once again it was another great experience at a spa. Wow! It’s so nice. Today, Nan and the Phuketindex team were given the honour of visiting The Flora Spa at La Flora Resort Patong.
I sensed a great feeling of relaxation as soon as I stepped into the Spa, with its simple but comfortable style décor.
This wonderful spa offers 2 twin treatment rooms, 2 single treatment rooms, a steam room, a sauna and male and female changing rooms/toilets.
For our visit, Apple proud to present The Flora Spa’s Therapeutic Oriental Treatment. This is a massage which includes tuina and acupressure among other forms of massage therapy. Concepts used in these therapies have been included in many other types of massage that are practiced today. This treatment will help to reduce stress and relieve aching muscles. The Flora Spa’s Therapeutic Oriental Treatment is finished with a Thai herbal poultice which alleviates pain caused by inflammation, soothes sores and reduces tension by hot scented herbal poultices with hot volcanic stones.
To begin you can choose one of the scented massage oils that you wish to have the oil massage carried out with. The Flora Spa has a choice of oils such as, Balance (Lemongrass, Eucalyptus, Lime), Exotic (Lavender, Geranium, Rose), Harmony (Rosemary, Orange, Chamomile) and Spirit (Frangipani, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang).
The next stage is an oil massage, followed by a massage using a paste made up of a mixture of dried pandanus, dried lemongrass, dried kaffir lime leaves, black sesame and camphor. The massage starts from the back and moves down to the back of the legs, then it’s on to the front of the body and the front of the legs, both of arms, stomach, chest, neck and head. Each body part being massaged using both above techniques before moving onto the next.
