Peter Jackson and his new private jet “Gulfstream G550”

New Zealand websites are reporting the Jackson paid around $50 million to pick up a Gulfstream G550.
His new plane is able to fly non-stop from Australia to Los Angeles and will replace his older Gulfstream IV which had to make a fueling stop on the way because of its shorter range.
The G550 usually accommodates 12 to 16 passengers in leather seats and divans arranged in several distinct living areas.

Insiders say Jackson insists on all his guests donning pyjamas for their overnight flight to Hollywood.

To pass the time at 45,000ft, they can watch their host’s favourite works on large screens.

Passengers can even breathe only fresh air in a cabin bathed in natural light shining through large windows, to help ward off the effects of jet lag.

The director currently owns 29 World War I and replica planes, and a plane-building company, Vintage Aviator.
