Laguna Phuket Intl Marathon Event Registration Closes Wed 9 June!

The fifth annual Laguna Phuket International Marathon will be held on 13 June 2010.

For more event information and to register visit www.phuketmarathon.com.

This is a great family event offering something for everyone with a full 42K Marathon for hard-core athletes, 21K Half-Marathon, 10.5K Fun Run, 5K Family Walk for charity and 2K Kid’s Run.

Everyone is invited to join this great summer event by at least entering the 5K Walk!

The highly-acclaimed screen actor, Ananda Everingham will be taking part in the 5K Charity Walk at the popular fun run in paradise. Ananda’s fans can sign up for the 5K Walk to join him in raising money for the Laguna Phuket International Marathon’s designated beneficiary, Baan Jao Krua School in Phang Nga.

Laguna Phuket supports local schools through its Building Sustainable Schools Program, and for the past 3 years the Laguna CSR Committee has worked to restore health and safety to an underprivileged school in Phang Nga province, leaving it in a position to sustain itself. With this project now complete Laguna Phuket has selected another school for sustainable development. Join the 5K Walk and help raise money for the new project. More details can be found at the CSR Project Page on the Laguna Phuket Website.

Asia’s Biggest Losers, Martha, Tony and Garry from the hit reality TV programme, will be racing at Laguna Phuket, too.

We’re encouraging individuals, businesses, hotels, schools, clubs and charity organisations to use this event as a fun fund raising and/or team building opportunity to celebrate summer in Phuket.

It’s a great event, professionally organised by Go Adventure Asia, with some 5,000 participants expected. We hope that several organisations will enter “Walking” teams dressed in branded t-shirts or your team colours, not only to demonstrate support for your organisation and your community spirit, but to also raise awareness and/or funds for either your own charity or the marathon’s official charity, Laguna Phuket’s Building Sustainable Schools Program.

If you register before 9 June, the cost to enter the 5K Walk is only THB 250 for Thais and THB 300 for expats and all walkers receive a Nike running singlet.

There are also 3 main races in the event if the 5K Walk is not enough for some of you, and a 2K Kid’s Race is also available for your children, details as follows:

It would be great to have as many Phuket people and organisations involved as possible, competing against each other in this friendly competition!

We really hope to see your team taking part in what has become the greatest destination marathon event in Southeast Asia.
