The Dubai police force has added yet another incredible supercar to its fleet and this time it’s a Bugatti Veyron.

Dubai Police Chief Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, an outspoken lieutenant general, tweeted a picture of the $1.4 million car, which boasts a beastly 1,001-horsepower engine.

The Veyron is the most expensive in a fleet that already includes two Ferrari FFs, a Bentley Continental GT, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Mercedes SLS and an Aston Martin One.

The Bugatti Veyron carries a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph) and was named “Car of the Decade” (2000–2009) by the BBC television show “Top Gear.”

Dubai’s maximum speed limit is capped at 75 miles per hour, with strict penalties for excesses. The city’s police have warned motorists not to be distracted by the vehicles on the road and not to take pictures while driving.

Ulysse Nardin is teaming up with HBO Global Licensing to create a signature men’s timepiece specifically for the critically-acclaimed drama Game of Thrones.

The Emmy winning series from HBO follows several powerful families who are struggling for the Iron Throne and control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.

This watch will draw inspiration from the Night’s Watch and will be available just before the show’s third season finale in June.

The Night’s Watch, a military order dressed only in black, is dedicated to holding The Wall, an ice fortress that protects the Seven Kingdoms from the dangers of the North.

The sporty Night’s Watch marine diver, is monochromatic in rich black with elements of red, which is said to represent the serious feel of the sacred order.

Its 45.8 mm diameter case is made from stainless steel, coated with matte black rubber and finished with an exposed, sapphire glass case back engraved with the Game of Thrones logo.

The watch is inscribed on the strap with the phrases “The Night’s Watch” and “I am the Sword in the Darkness”.

Only 25 pieces of this watch will be created with a selling price of US$10,500.

Prestigious jeweller Harry Winston, which was acquired earlier this year by Swatch Group, bought a new colourless, flawless 101.73-carat diamond for a record $26.7 million at an auction in Geneva on Wednesday, auction house Christie’s said.

As the first ever buyer of the new diamond, Harry Winston had the priviledge of naming it and had decided to call it “Harry Legacy.”

This is the diamond dealer’s first major purchase since it was snapped up by the world’s leading watchmaker for $1.0 billion in March.

The American Institute of Gemology has handed the Harry Legacy the top colourless grade “D” and the best clarity grade, “flawless”, which is characterised by its “absolute symmetry”, according to Christies.

The diamond, sold at the auction by a diamond merchant, was 236 carats in the rough when it was extracted from the Jwaneng mine in Botswana, before it was meticulously sculpted for 21 months, Christie’s said.

Wednesday’s sale marked the highest price ever paid for a flawless colourless diamond at auction, although Christie’s had hoped the new diamond — the largest of its kind to ever go under the hammer — would rake in $30 million.

The Elizabeth Taylor Diamond, which is in the same D-colour category but weighs in at only 33.19 carats, was meanwhile sold for $8.8 million on auction in New York in December 2011.

Australian actress Nicole Kidman will appear as the new face of luxury shoe and accessories brand Jimmy Choo from this autumn.

With the images currently top secret, and set to drop in August’s crop of fashion magazines including Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and Vanity Fair, Nicole Kidman was shot by Swedish fashion photographer Mikael Jansson.

The Australian actress was an obvious choice for Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi: “Nicole is one of the finest actresses in the world,” Choi told WWD. “I knew [she] could convey the empowered glamour of the brand. But she is also so nuanced and refined; she brings an attitude of defiance, strength, sensuality and elegance.”

Academy Award winner Nicole was the face of famed perfume Chanel No. 5 for a number of years, after starring in a multimillion dollar advert shot by “The Great Gatsby” and “Moulin Rouge” director Baz Luhrmann.

Previous Jimmy Choo ads have featured US model Molly Sims alongside famous music producer Quincy Jones.

In all, Bentley won the flagship endurance race six times between 1924 and 2003 and as such has designed six limited-edition Continental GT coupes and six equally limited-edition Mulsanne models, each inspired by and named after one of Bentley’s winning Le Mans drivers: John Duff; Dudley Benjafield; Woolf Barnato; Tim Birkin; Glen Kidston; and Guy Smith.

In all, Bentley plans to produce 48 examples of each model. The first Le Mans Continental GTs are expected to be delivered this summer, while Mulsanne customers will have to wait until the autumn.

Etihad Airways emerged a big winner at the Middle East edition of the World Travel Awards this week, sweeping up awards in categories for leading airline, best first class service and top cabin crew.

Held in Dubai over the weekend, the regional awards for Middle East handed out gongs across dozens of categories recognizing the best in hotels, spas, rental car companies, travel agencies and tourist destinations.

While Etihad took the top prize in airlines, Emirates wasn’t far behind as it also snagged a trio of awards including best airline rewards program, best website and best business class service.

Last year, Etihad Airways was also voted the World’s Leading Airline for the fourth consecutive time and will be looking for a fifth win at the international awards in Las Vegas later this year — an impressive feat given that the airline launched in 2003.

The flagship carrier of the United Arab Emirates also pulled off a strong showing at the Skytrax World Airline Awards last summer, where it took home titles for best first class, best first class seats, and best first class catering.

Recently, the airline partnered with professional networking site LinkedIn to create an interactive mapping tool meant to serve as a power networking service for users traveling through the region.

The airline has also upped the ante in the airline industry launching premium services for passengers that include bringing personal, onboard chefs into its first class cabin, and installing ing-flight showers on their aircraft.

Meanwhile, the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi took the title of Middle East’s Leading Hotel, while Raffles Makkah Palace took the title of leading luxury hotel.

The next regional edition of the World Travel Awards, known as the Oscars of the travel industry, will be the Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, May 12 in the Maldives.

For its 50th anniversary celebration in collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini, Car Shoe (owned since 2001 by the Prada Group) is launching a new driving shoe.

Hand made with meticulous attention to detail, the classic profile features a pebbled calf leather upper and a notched, rubber studded outsole for added grip.

The French lifestyle label Lacoste has announced a new men’s fragrance, set to hit stores this summer.

In 2011 the brand released three scents inspired by its famous polo shirts, followed by a fourth fragrance, Rouge, which came out last year. Now Lacoste has added a fifth scent to the line-up, Noir.

According to Carla Liuni, vice president of fashion brands for P&G Prestige, Noir “still remains in the fresh olfactive territory, but it’s a bit more intense,” reported WWD.

The bottle, like its brothers in the five-strong ‘L.12.12′ range, is partially textured to evoke the brand’s classic polos and features the famous Lacoste crocodile logo.

Noir will be launched in May in the US and UK, the Middle East and parts of Europe.

It will then get a July release in France, Spain, Benelux, Germany and Asia before finally hitting Russian and Latin American markets in August.

The 30-ml eau de toilette spray will go on sale for €40 (about $52) and a larger 100-ml. version will retail at €67 (around $87).
